About the Role

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), to play a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and resilience of our platform. You will build and work with automation to eliminate toil, improve observability across our systems, and strengthen incident response practices. Reporting to the VP of Technology, this role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex infrastructure challenges, building with care, and collaborating across development and product teams.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure, automation, and services

  • Work closely with our development team to contribute to and improve our CI/CD pipelines for faster, safer deployments

  • Develop infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) to manage platform resources

  • Improve monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to drive proactive issue detection

  • Participate in and refine our on-call rotation, leading incident responses as needed

  • Lead root cause analyses and drive postmortem action items to completion

  • Collaborate with software developers to optimize performance and reliability of applications

  • Champion best practices in system performance, security, and automation

What We are Looking For

  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools and infrastructure as code frameworks

  • Proficiency with containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Experience building and managing infrastructure on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)

  • Strong scripting/automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Go)

  • Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog)

  • An independent, resourceful, and persistent mentality in identifying root causes and resolving issues.

  • A sense of urgency - SureWx’ critical work can save lives!

  • Excellent communication, and collaboration skills

  • Cloud certifications are a strong asset (AWS certified solutions architect, etc)

  • Bonus: Experience supporting systems in aviation, weather, or safety-critical industries
